The Friend At Midnight
(To Him Who Knocks)

by Frank Pesile

If you have a friend and at midnight you should go to him.
Please I ask of you a favor's what I seek.
Could you be so kind and help me with this friend of mine.
My shelves are bare no food to find he's been traveling for a week.

"Do not bother me", the friend replies, "I cannot see".
The darkness surrounds me, my children are asleep.
But his friend persists and calls again, "Please don't resist".
Cause they're true friends, he lets him in and gives him all he needs.

And God gives this clue "Ask and it shall be given to you.
Seek and you shall find, Knock and it shall be opened to you."
For he who asks receives, he seeks and finds, and then believes.
Our Father knows and meets our needs, just ask, the Spirit sees.

For he who asks receives, he seeks and finds and then believes.
Our Father knows and meets our needs,
Just ask, the Spirit sees, Just ask the Spirit sees.

The Spirit sees.
