The Rich Fool

by Frank Pesile

I cannot produce no more my goods, my crops - no where to store.
I'm perplexed and so confused I think I'm rich, cause I'm not poor.
Then he thought, "Here's what I'11 try I'11 take my corn, barley, and
rye I'11 tear my barn down, build another Stronger, larger, twice as high."

And to my soul, here's what I'11 say, "It's time to rest, it's time to play.
I've many goods to last a lifetime I'11 eat and drink - forget to pray." But
God replied to him, "You Fool." You joined the world and broke My Rule.
You laid up treasures for yourself You threw away in Me - your fool.

CHORUS
This very night, your soul is required of you
Now who will own, all the wealth, you've accrued?
Oh, what can you do?

So don't be anxious for your life or what you'll eat, what clothes look right.
These earthly things mean very little Compared to My plan, which is Life.
The birds I feed - the lilies grow so don't you fret, I love you so.
The nations seek, the masses follow but of My Kingdom, they don't know.

So seek My face and hear My plea I've chosen you - My Flock for Me.
Sell your possessions, give to others make for yourselves, treasures I see.
Those gifts which don't wear out in time preserved in heaven - they're all Mine.
Where thieves can't steal one's prize possession, they're made of gold, pure and refined.

CHORUS
Where your treasure is, also is your heart
Keep your lamps alight, through the days and the night
Don't lose your sight.

Be like the ones who look and wait For their Master at His Gate, In constant
prayer forever vigil For they know the hour is late.

When He returns, this no one knows blessed are those who reap and sow. Their fruit
is precious from all others they planted seeds, God watched them grow.

Watch one, or two, or maybe three He'll come for you - He'll come for me.
We must be sensible and faithful As we await Eternity.
Returning from His wedding feast He'll seek the best, He'll seek the least.
To serve and have them at His table He'll wait on them, and serve His Feast.

CHORUS
Those given much, much shall be required from them.
To whom They entrusted much, they'll be asked for much more, to open God's Door.

Returning from His Wedding Feast He'll seek the best - He'll seek the least.
To serve and have them at His table He'll wait on them and serve His Feast.
To serve and have them at His Table He'll wait on them and serve His Feast.
