Parable Of The Sower

by Frank Pesile

A seed was sown on the ground Beside the road it was found.
Was tread on heavily there consumed by birds in the air.
Some fell on soil strewn with rock developed not as good stock.
And soon it withered away lacked moisture - what can I say?

And others fell among thorns tried to survive and be strong.
The thorns enveloped the seeds along with voracious weeds.
And they grew up as if one but lacking life from the sun.
And so they choked were left to die A worthless end - angels cry.

CHORUS
Some seeds find fertile ground mature in strength - profound.
Rroduce a crop that rates A hundred times as great.

He who has ears let him hear I've chosen you please draw near.
This mystery is not for all many didn't answer my call.
In seeing they still do not see they never recognized me.
In hearing they don't comprehend this worldly life is their end.
To some it's granted to know there are some seeds sown to grow.
In wisdom sent from above so let me edify you not multitudes but the few.
Let me explain about the seed the truth from God's what you need.

CHORUS
Some seeds find fertile ground mature in strength - profound.
Produce a crop that rates a hundred times as great.

The seeds that lie near the road are those who've heard and been told.
Then Satan enters their heart, the words eventually depart.
It's taken quickly away like night disposing of day.
And their belief it just fades their souls are lost and not saved.
The rocky soil and the seed Are those who hear - and try to heed. Receive the word filled with joy like a young child with a toy.
But since their roots are not firm they believe some - but don't learn. Temptation comes - they fall away consumed like fire meeting hay.

CHORUS
Some seeds find fertile ground mature in strength - profound.
Produce a crop that rates A hundred times as great.

The seeds which fell with the thorns are ones who hear but are torn. Worries of life choked with fear pleasures - riches interfere.
Ravenous wolves dressed like sheep devouring the strong with the weak. There is no fruit to be found it's crushed - lies spoiled on the ground.

In soil that's tended by God nourished for growth - soft not hard. Gracious and honest hearts pure doing God's Will - that's assured.

The ones who have heard and obeyed who've humbly kneeled - softly prayed. Those who press on and persevere bearing much fruit year to year.

CHORUS
Some seeds find fertile ground mature in strength - profound.
Produce a crop that rates A hundred times as great.

In soil that's tended by God nourished for growth - soft not hard. Gracious and honest hearts pure doing God's will - that's assured.
The ones who have heard and obeyed who've humbly kneeled - softly prayed. Those who press on and persevere bearing much fruit year to year.

To press on to persevere bearing God's fruit - year to year
Do you hear - do you hear?
