The Kingdom of Heaven

by Frank Pesile

The Kingdom of Heaven Is like a treasure hidden in the field.
To be hidden away for that great and glorious day,
when a man sells all he has to buy a field.

The Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant seeking pearls so fine.
And searching for some time he finds that pearl sublime and sells his prize possessions, the pearl to buy.

The Kingdom of Heaven is like a dragnet cast into the sea.
And all the fish that one could find were gathered, every kind, the worst thrown back the best - for all to see.

CHORUS
Then every scribe And disciple of Me
Looks to the kingdom of heaven and sees
Like the head of the household who has been told
To bring forth out of his treasure
Things new and old to bring forth out of his treasure things new and old.
So it will be with the age at its end
God will proclaim With His angels
He'll send To separate the wicked
From all righteous men to cast in the furnace of fire
Those who don't repent where there shall be weeping and gnashing
of teeth You must repent.

The Kingdom of Heaven Is like a treasure hidden in the field To be hidden away For that great and glorious day
When a man sells all he has To buy the field.

When a man sells all he has To buy the field.

Where the righteous will shine like the sun They bought the field.
Where the righteous will shine like the sun They bought the field.
